SD Dept of Health reports 1 new COVID-19 related death

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 1 new COVID-related death, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,161. The state had 755 new cases and 1,080 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 6,889. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 220.

So far, South Dakota has had 146,594 cases and 137,544 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 20 new cases and 34 recoveries. The county currently has 254 active cases. Overall, the county has had 6,326 cases and 5,977 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 35,860 cases, followed by Pennington County with 19,142 and Lincoln County with 9,841, Other counties totals include Codington with 5,240, Brookings with 4,955, Meade with 4,175, Lawrence with 4,097, and Davison with 3,618.

Statewide 424,081 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 64% of the state) with 392,176 completing vaccination(under 59% of the state). Brown County has 19,943 receiving at least one shot & 18,927 completing vaccination.
