SD Dept of Health reports 1 new COVID-19 related death

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 1 new COVID-related death, while active cases & hospitalizations stayed the same, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,171. The state had 351 new cases and 477 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 6,589. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 213.

So far, South Dakota has had 147,820 cases and 139,060 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 13 new cases and 25 recoveries. The county currently has 230 active cases. Overall, the county has had 6,368 cases and 6,042 recoveries. There’s currently 96 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 36,215 cases, followed by Pennington County with 19,507 and Lincoln County with 9,932, Other counties totals include Codington with 5,284, Brookings with 4,997, Meade with 4,266, Lawrence with 4,154, and Davison with 3,644.

Statewide 425,229 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 65% of the state) with 393,514 completing vaccination(over 59% of the state). Brown County has 20,020 receiving at least one shot & 19,010 completing vaccination
