SD Dept of Health reports 1 new COVID-19 related death

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 1 new COVID-related death, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,560. The state had 2,265 new cases and 286 recoveries, increasing active infections to 28,813. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 348.

So far, South Dakota has had 205,402 cases and 174,029 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 92 new cases and 11 recoveries. The county currently has 1,029 active cases. Overall, the county has had 8,622 cases and 7,483 recoveries. There’s currently 110 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 51,418 cases, followed by Pennington County with 27,354 and Lincoln County with 14,073, Other counties totals include Codington with 7,091, Brookings with 6,975, Meade with 5,830, Lawrence with 5,575, and Davison with 5,098.

Statewide 502,801 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 68% of the state) with 450,119 completing vaccination(over 56% of the state).  Statewide 186,260 have received the booster shot(under 29% of the state).

Brown County has 23,009 receiving at least one shot & 21,416 completing vaccination. 9,566 receiving the booster shot.
