SD Dept of Health reports 1 new COVID-19 related death

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 1 new COVID-related death, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,844. The state had 71 new cases and 187 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 3,238. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 112.

So far, South Dakota has had 236,503 cases and 230,421 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 7 new cases and 15 recoveries. The county currently has 201 active cases. Overall, the county has had 10,240 cases and 9,920 recoveries. There’s currently 119 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 56,891 cases, followed by Pennington County with 32,546 and Lincoln County with 15,462, Other counties totals include Codington with 8,375, Brookings with 8,075, Meade with 6,978, Lawrence with 6,548, and Yankton with 5,897.

Statewide 517,528 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 71% of the state) with 466,407 completing vaccination(over 58% of the state).  Statewide 208,737 have received the booster shot(over 32% of the state).

Brown County has 23,605 receiving at least one shot & 22,194 completing vaccination. 10,886 receiving the booster shot.
