PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 1 new COVID-related death, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 3,116. The state had 624 new cases and 823 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 449. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 83.

So far, South Dakota has had 271,433 cases and 267,868 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 15 new cases. Overall, the county has had 11,756 cases. There’s currently 132 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 63,742 cases, followed by Pennington County with 37,885 and Lincoln County with 17,120, Other counties totals include Codington with 10,269, Brookings with 9,203, Meade with 8,197, Lawrence with 7,638, and Davison with 6,890.
