SD Dept of Health reports 1 new COVID-19 related death

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 1 new COVID-related death, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,961. The state had 150 new cases and 204 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 1,765. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 103.

So far, South Dakota has had 122,228 cases and 118,502 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 8 new cases and 7 recoveries. The county currently has 64 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,475 cases and 5,320 recoveries. There’s currently 91 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,213 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,565, and Lincoln County with 8,599. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,551, Brookings with 4,163, Davison with 3,206, Yankton with 3,060, and Lawrence with 2,950.

Statewide 325,532 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 54% of the state) with 263,502 completing vaccination(under 44% of the state).  Brown County has 15,764 receiving at least one shot & 12,854 completing vaccination.
