PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 1 new COVID-related death, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 3,153. The state had 996 new cases and 898 recoveries, increasing active infections to 630. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 66.

So far, South Dakota has had 275,672 cases and 271,889 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 65 new cases. Overall, the county has had 11,974 cases. There’s currently 133 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 64,574 cases, followed by Pennington County with 38,497 and Lincoln County with 17,337, Other counties totals include Codington with 10,490, Brookings with 9,381, Meade with 8,289, Lawrence with 7,713, and Davison with 7,009.
