SD Dept of Health reports 1 new COVID-19 related death

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 1 new COVID-related death, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,962. The state had 170 new cases and 145 recoveries, increasing active infections to 1,789. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 103.

So far, South Dakota has had 122,398 cases and 118,647 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 19 new cases and 7 recoveries. The county currently has 76 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,494 cases and 5,327 recoveries. There’s currently 91 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,257 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,585, and Lincoln County with 8,607. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,563, Brookings with 4,171, Davison with 3,213, Yankton with 3,064, and Lawrence with 2,953.

Statewide 326,272 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 54% of the state) with 266,658 completing vaccination(over 44% of the state).  Brown County has 15,771 receiving at least one shot & 13,123 completing vaccination.
