SD Dept of Health reports 1 new COVID-19 related death

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 1 new COVID-related death, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,020. The state had 15 new cases and 33 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 281. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 34.

So far, South Dakota has had 124,242 cases and 121,941 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 2 new cases and 6 recoveries. The county currently has 22 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,633 cases and 5,516 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,711 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,846, and Lincoln County with 8,712, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,648, Brookings with 4,231, Davison with 3,245, Yankton with 3,110, and Lawrence with 3,004.

Statewide 353,169 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 55% of the state) with 324,169 completing vaccination(over 49% of the state).  Brown County has 16,996 receiving at least one shot & 15,775 completing vaccination.
