SD Dept of Health reports 1 new COVID-19 related death

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 1 new COVID-related death1, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,027. The state had 16 new cases and 17 recoveries, increasing active infections to 165. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 28.

So far, South Dakota has had 124,393 cases and 122,201 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had no new cases and 4 recoveries. The county currently has 2 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,635 cases and 5,538 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,746 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,894, and Lincoln County with 8,720, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,649, Brookings with 4,235, Davison with 3,247, Yankton with 3,112, and Lawrence with 3,007.

Statewide 361,803 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 56% of the state) with 336,896 completing vaccination(over 51% of the state). Brown County has 17,298 receiving at least one shot & 16,239 completing vaccination.
