SD Dept of Health reports 1 new COVID-19 related death

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 1 new COVID-related death, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,030. The state had 14 new cases and 7 recoveries, increasing active infections to 170. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 15.

So far, South Dakota has had 124,492 cases and 122,292 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had no new cases and no recoveries. The county currently has 5 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,640 cases and 5,540 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,764 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,923, and Lincoln County with 8,722, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,653, Brookings with 4,235, Davison with 3,250, Yankton with 3,115, and Lawrence with 3,009.

Statewide 365,255 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 56% of the state) with 341,756 completing vaccination(over 52% of the state). Brown County has 17,446 receiving at least one shot & 16,650 completing vaccination.
