SD Dept of Health reports 1 new COVID-19 related death, over 50% state fully vaccinated

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 1 new COVID-related death, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,023. The state had 29 new cases and 41 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 229. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 43.

So far, South Dakota has had 124,302 cases and 122,050 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 1 new case and 3 recoveries. The county currently has 15 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,635 cases and 5,525 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,728 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,861, and Lincoln County with 8,715, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,648, Brookings with 4,231, Davison with 3,245, Yankton with 3,111, and Lawrence with 3,008.

Statewide 355,968 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 55% of the state) with 327,564 completing vaccination(over 50% of the state).  Brown County has 17,113 receiving at least one shot & 15,980 completing vaccination.
