SD Dept of Health reports 1 new COVID-19 related death

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 1 new COVID-related death, while active cases  decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,948. The state had 225 new cases and 272 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 2,391. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 113.

So far, South Dakota has had 120,379 cases and 116,040 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 9 new cases and 9 recoveries. The county currently has 101 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,418 cases and 5,226 recoveries. There’s currently 91 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 30,667 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,420, and Lincoln County with 8,449. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,344, Brookings with 4,048, Davison with 3,162, Yankton with 2,997, and Lawrence with 2,920.

Statewide 306,642 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 51% of the state) with 217,946 completing vaccination(over 36% of the state).  Brown County has 14,798 receiving at least one shot & 10,094 completing vaccination.
