SD Dept of Health reports 10 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 10 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,660. The state had 1,756 new cases and 3,426 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 30,559. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 366.

So far, South Dakota has had 228,169 cases and 194,950 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 85 new cases and 137 recoveries. The county currently has 1,516 active cases. Overall, the county has had 9,785 cases and 8,156 recoveries. There’s currently 113 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 55,765 cases, followed by Pennington County with 31,382 and Lincoln County with 15,190, Other counties totals include Codington with 8,042, Brookings with 7,868, Meade with 6,678, Lawrence with 6,258, and Davison with 5,676.

Statewide 508,244 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 70% of the state) with 454,203 completing vaccination(under 57% of the state).  Statewide 196,350 have received the booster shot(over 30% of the state).

Brown County has 23,277 receiving at least one shot & 21,633 completing vaccination. 10,135 receiving the booster shot.
