SD Dept of Health reports 10 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 10 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,893. The state had 137 new cases and 176 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 488. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 41.

So far, South Dakota has had 237,246 cases and 233,865 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 12 new cases and 12 recoveries. The county currently has 33 active cases. Overall, the county has had 10,289 cases and 10,135 recoveries. There’s currently 121 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 57,034 cases, followed by Pennington County with 32,674 and Lincoln County with 15,484, Other counties totals include Codington with 8,408, Brookings with 8,096, Meade with 7,004, Lawrence with 6,565, and Yankton with 5,902.

Statewide 520,627 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(71.91% of the state) with 469,424 completing vaccination(58.87% of the state).  Statewide 213,124 have received the booster shot(33.13% of the state).

Brown County has 23,665  receiving at least one shot & 22,289 completing vaccination. 11,108 receiving the booster shot.
