SD Dept of Health reports 10 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 10 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,125. The state had 470 new cases and 481 recoveries, increasing active infections to 7,704. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 190.

So far, South Dakota has had 142,800 cases and 132,971 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 7 new cases and 12 recoveries. The county currently has 298 active cases. Overall, the county has had 6,194 cases and 5,812 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 35,087 cases, followed by Pennington County with 18,468 and Lincoln County with 9,606, Other counties totals include Codington with 5,100, Brookings with 4,852, Meade with 4,026, Lawrence with 3,966, and Davison with 3,556.

Statewide 418,610 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 64% of the state) with 387,095 completing vaccination(over 58% of the state). Brown County has 19,788 receiving at least one shot & 18,667 completing vaccination.
