PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 10 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,544. The state had 2,584 new cases and 521 recoveries, increasing active infections to 24,796. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 343.
So far, South Dakota has had 200,496 cases and 173,156 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 118 new cases and 11 recoveries. The county currently has 874 active cases. Overall, the county has had 8,437 cases and 7,453 recoveries. There’s currently 110 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 50,197 cases, followed by Pennington County with 26,2606 and Lincoln County with 13,755, Other counties totals include Codington with 6,953, Brookings with 6,741, Meade with 5,689, Lawrence with 5,426, and Davison with 4,994.
Statewide 501,568 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 68% of the state) with 449,425 completing vaccination(over 56% of the state). Statewide 184,026 have received the booster shot(over 28% of the state).
Brown County has 22,948 receiving at least one shot & 21,393 completing vaccination. 9,443 receiving the booster shot.
