PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 10 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,687. The state had 569 new cases and 2,510 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 25,002. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 354.
So far, South Dakota has had 230,240 cases and 202,501 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 41 new cases and 104 recoveries. The county currently has 1,290 active cases. Overall, the county has had 9,923 cases and 8,519 recoveries. There’s currently 114 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 56,052 cases, followed by Pennington County with 31,676 and Lincoln County with 15,260, Other counties totals include Codington with 8,141, Brookings with 7,931, Meade with 6,752, Lawrence with 6,338, and Davison with 5,732.
Statewide 509,186 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 70% of the state) with 455,186 completing vaccination(over 57% of the state). Statewide 197,908 have received the booster shot(over 30% of the state).
Brown County has 23,337 receiving at least one shot & 21,682 completing vaccination. 10,232 receiving the booster shot.
