SD Dept of Health reports 10 new COVID-19 related deaths(2 in Brown County)

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 10 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,973. The state had 1,372 new cases and 1,487 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 4,308. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 102.

So far, South Dakota has had 253,232 cases and 245,951 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 47 new cases and 63 recoveries. The county currently has 198 active cases. Overall, the county has had 10,907 cases and 10,585 recoveries. There’s currently 124 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 60,198 cases, followed by Pennington County with 35,602 and Lincoln County with 16,268, Other counties totals include Codington with 9,205, Brookings with 8,640, Meade with 7,593, Lawrence with 7,193, and Yankton with 6,295.

Statewide 531,902 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 74% of the state).

Brown County has 24,081 receiving at least one shot.
