SD Dept of Health reports 12 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 12 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 3,002. The state had 1,173 new cases and 1,052 recoveries, increasing active infections to 753. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 85.

So far, South Dakota has had 259,683 cases and 255,916 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 48 new cases and 39 recoveries. The county currently has 29 active cases. Overall, the county has had 11,126 cases and 10,973 recoveries. There’s currently 124 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 61,308 cases, followed by Pennington County with 36,651 and Lincoln County with 16,518, Other counties totals include Codington with 9,548, Brookings with 8,838, Meade with 7,879, Lawrence with 7,362, and Yankton with 6,467.

Statewide 534,135 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 75% of the state).

Brown County has 24,160 receiving at least one shot.
