PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 12 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 3,033. The state had 842 new cases and 804 recoveries, increasing active infections to 566. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 66.

So far, South Dakota has had 262,213 cases and 258,614 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 66 new cases. Overall, the county has had 11,271 cases. There’s currently 124 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 61,743 cases, followed by Pennington County with 37,008 and Lincoln County with 16,648, Other counties totals include Codington with 9,653, Brookings with 8,939, Meade with 7,991, Lawrence with 7,415, and Yankton with 6,524.
