PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 12 new COVID-related death, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 3,145. The state had 464 new cases and 464 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 535. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 57.

So far, South Dakota has had 273,354 cases and 269,888 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 22 new cases. Overall, the county has had 11,840 cases. There’s currently 134 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 64,157 cases, followed by Pennington County with 38,155 and Lincoln County with 17,233, Other counties totals include Codington with 10,361, Brookings with 9,264, Meade with 8,232, Lawrence with 7,671, and Davison with 6,942.
