SD Dept of Health reports 13 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 13 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,573. The state had 6,483 new cases and 2,522 recoveries, increasing active infections to 32,761. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 392.

So far, South Dakota has had 211,885 cases and 176,551 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 297 new cases and 76 recoveries. The county currently has 1,250 active cases. Overall, the county has had 8,919 cases and 7,559 recoveries. There’s currently 110 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 53,138 cases, followed by Pennington County with 28,545 and Lincoln County with 14,533, Other counties totals include Codington with 7,286, Brookings with 7,226, Meade with 6,054, Lawrence with 5,718, and Davison with 5,243.

Statewide 504,563 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 69% of the state) with 450,987 completing vaccination(over 56% of the state).  Statewide 188,901 have received the booster shot(over 29% of the state).

Brown County has 23,104 receiving at least one shot & 21,455 completing vaccination. 9,665 receiving the booster shot.
