PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 13 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,650. The state had 1,030 new cases and 2,425 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 32,239. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 393.
So far, South Dakota has had 226,413 cases and 191,524 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 59 new cases and 73 recoveries. The county currently has 1,568 active cases. Overall, the county has had 9,700 cases and 8,019 recoveries. There’s currently 113 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 55,553 cases, followed by Pennington County with 31,070 and Lincoln County with 15,124, Other counties totals include Codington with 7,908, Brookings with 7,828, Meade with 6,602, Lawrence with 6,202, and Davison with 5,641.
Statewide 507,700 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 70% of the state) with 453,609 completing vaccination(under 57% of the state). Statewide 195,289 have received the booster shot(over 30% of the state).
Brown County has 23,254 receiving at least one shot & 21,587 completing vaccination. 10,083 receiving the booster shot.
