SD Dept of Health reports 13 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 13 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,202. The state had 354 new cases and 390 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 5,819. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 193.

So far, South Dakota has had 150,350 cases and 142,329 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 19 new cases and 20 recoveries. The county currently has 240 active cases. Overall, the county has had 6,502 cases and 6,163 recoveries. There’s currently 99 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 36,808 cases, followed by Pennington County with 20,030 and Lincoln County with 10,106, Other counties totals include Codington with 5,403, Brookings with 5,050, Meade with 4,389, Lawrence with 4,232, and Davison with 3,677.

Statewide 441,076 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 66% of the state) with 380,142 completing vaccination(under 57% of the state).  Statewide 36,332 have received the booster shot.

Brown County has 20,491 receiving at least one shot & 18,021 completing vaccination.  1,506 receiving the booster shot.
