PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 14 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,802. The state had 131 new cases and 427 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 5,348. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 171.
So far, South Dakota has had 235,787 cases and 227,637 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 3 new cases and 32 recoveries. The county currently has 291 active cases. Overall, the county has had 10,185 cases and 9,778 recoveries. There’s currently 116 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 56,765 cases, followed by Pennington County with 32,424 and Lincoln County with 15,430, Other counties totals include Codington with 8,331, Brookings with 8,061, Meade with 6,951, Lawrence with 6,536, and Yankton with 5,875.
Statewide 515,228 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 71% of the state) with 463,693 completing vaccination(over 58% of the state). Statewide 206,445 have received the booster shot(under 32% of the state).
Brown County has 23,536 receiving at least one shot & 22,109 completing vaccination. 10,751 receiving the booster shot.
