SD Dept of Health reports 15 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 15 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health through Friday. The death total currently at 2,160. The state had 365 new cases and 460 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 7,215. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 201.

So far, South Dakota has had 145,839 cases and 136,464 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 10 new cases and 14 recoveries. The county currently has 268 active cases. Overall, the county has had 6,306 cases and 5,943 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 35,860 cases, followed by Pennington County with 19,142 and Lincoln County with 9,841, Other counties totals include Codington with 5,240, Brookings with 4,955, Meade with 4,175, Lawrence with 4,097, and Davison with 3,618.

Statewide 422,486 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 64% of the state) with 390,998 completing vaccination(under 59% of the state). Brown County has 19,932 receiving at least one shot & 18,894 completing vaccination.
