SD Dept of Health reports 2 COVID-19 deaths, those completing vaccination process over 100,000

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 2 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health today. The death total currently at 1,907. The state had 184 new cases and 150 recoveries, increasing active infections to 2,163. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 62.

So far, South Dakota has had 114,347 cases and 110,2777 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 6 new cases and 5 recoveries. The county currently has 70 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,192 confirmed cases and 5,033 recoveries. There’s currently 89 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 28,581 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,051, and Lincoln County with 7,926. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,064, Brookings with 3,646, Davison with 2,992, Lawrence with 2,839 and Yankton with 2,835.

Statewide 181,530 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 31% of the state) with 103,095 completing vaccination(over 17% of the state).  Brown County has 8,474 receiving at least one shot & 5,151 completing vaccination.
