SD Dept of Health reports 2 COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 2 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases  & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,991. The state had 47 new cases and 91 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 890. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 67.

So far, South Dakota has had 123,644 cases and 120,763 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 3 new cases and 6 recoveries. The county currently has 58 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,581 cases and 5,431 recoveries. There’s currently 92 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,602 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,755, and Lincoln County with 8,687, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,639, Brookings with 4,212, Davison with 3,232, Yankton with 3,093, and Lawrence with 2,987.

Statewide 337,559 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 56% of the state) with 308,419 completing vaccination(over 50% of the state).  Brown County has 16,269 receiving at least one shot & 15,170 completing vaccination.
