SD Dept of Health reports 2 COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 2 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased  & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health(through Friday). The death total currently at 1,993. The state had 42 new cases and 102 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 828. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 71.

So far, South Dakota has had 123,686 cases and 120,865 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 5 new cases and 4 recoveries. The county currently has 59 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,586 cases and 5,435 recoveries. There’s currently 92 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,609 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,756, and Lincoln County with 8,690, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,641, Brookings with 4,214, Davison with 3,233, Yankton with 3,096, and Lawrence with 2,988.

Statewide 338,679 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 56% of the state) with 310,490 completing vaccination(under 51% of the state).  Brown County has 16,306 receiving at least one shot & 15,218 completing vaccination.
