PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 1 new COVID-related death, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 3,118. The state had 423 new cases and 611 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 259. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 62.

So far, South Dakota has had 271,856 cases and 268,479 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 21 new cases. Overall, the county has had 11,777 cases. There’s currently 132 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 63,867 cases, followed by Pennington County with 37,943 and Lincoln County with 17,153, Other counties totals include Codington with 10,290, Brookings with 9,214, Meade with 8,206, Lawrence with 7,640, and Davison with 6,908.
