PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 2 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,861. The state had 67 new cases and 228 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 2,861. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 77.
So far, South Dakota has had 236,715 cases and 231,098 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 1 new case and 18 recoveries. The county currently has 172 active cases. Overall, the county has had 10,256 cases and 9,964 recoveries. There’s currently 120 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 56,936 cases, followed by Pennington County with 32,573 and Lincoln County with 15,466, Other counties totals include Codington with 8,385, Brookings with 8,083, Meade with 6,991, Lawrence with 6,551, and Yankton with 5,899.
Statewide 518,217 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 71% of the state) with 467,401 completing vaccination(over 58% of the state). Statewide 210,107 have received the booster shot(over 32% of the state).
Brown County has 23,613 receiving at least one shot & 22,233 completing vaccination. 10,958 receiving the booster shot.
