PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 2 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,938. The state had 1,254 new cases and 931 recoveries, increasing active infections to 3,101. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 53.
So far, South Dakota has had 244,523 cases and 238,484 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 44 new cases and 22 recoveries. The county currently has 99 active cases. Overall, the county has had 10,525 cases and 10,305 recoveries. There’s currently 121 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 58,513 cases, followed by Pennington County with 34,182 and Lincoln County with 15,894, Other counties totals include Codington with 8,730, Brookings with 8,379, Meade with 7,299, Lawrence with 6,824, and Yankton with 6,091.
Statewide 527,530 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 74% of the state).
Brown County has 23,900 receiving at least one shot.
