PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 2 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,947. The state had 1,514 new cases and 1,193 recoveries, increasing active infections to 4,176. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 86.
So far, South Dakota has had 248,788 cases and 241,665 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 71 new cases and 43 recoveries. The county currently has 176 active cases. Overall, the county has had 10,705 cases and 10,408 recoveries. There’s currently 121 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 59,342 cases, followed by Pennington County with 34,956 and Lincoln County with 16,093, Other counties totals include Codington with 8,970, Brookings with 8,501, Meade with 7,455, Lawrence with 7,031, and Yankton with 6,176.
Statewide 528,514 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 74% of the state).
Brown County has 23,947 receiving at least one shot.
