SD Dept of Health reports 2 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 2 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,055. The state had 392 new cases and 109 recoveries, increasing active infections to 1,639. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 92.

So far, South Dakota has had 127,320 cases and 123,626 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 7 new cases and 3 recoveries. The county currently has 41 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,705 cases and 5,569 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 32,491 cases, followed by Pennington County with 14,513, and Lincoln County with 8,886, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,724, Brookings with 4,344, Davison with 3,287, Yankton with 3,136, and Lawrence with 3,123.

Statewide 394,033 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 60% of the state) with 364,420 completing vaccination(over 55% of the state). Brown County has 18,730 receiving at least one shot & 17,585 completing vaccination.
