SD Dept of Health reports 2 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 2 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,062. The state had 449 new cases and 100 recoveries, increasing active infections to 3,992. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 168.

So far, South Dakota has had 130,776 cases and 124,722 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 8 new cases and 3 recoveries. The county currently has 61 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,762 cases and 5,606 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 33,048 cases, followed by Pennington County with 15,414, and Lincoln County with 9,046, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,783, Brookings with 4,445, Lawrence with 3,371, Davison with 3,329, and Meade with 3,301.

Statewide 402,102 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(above 61% of the state) with 371,182 completing vaccination(over 56% of the state). Brown County has 19,031 receiving at least one shot & 17,943 completing vaccination.
