SD Dept of Health reports 2 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 2 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,069. The state had 1020 new cases and 309 recoveries, increasing active infections to 5,035. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 216.

So far, South Dakota has had 132,259 cases and 125,135 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 22 new cases and 1 recovery. The county currently has 100 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,801 cases and 5,606 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 33,270 cases, followed by Pennington County with 15,867, and Lincoln County with 9,126, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,807, Brookings with 4,480, Lawrence with 3,467, Meade with 3,432, and Davison with 3,353.

Statewide 405,132 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(below 62% of the state) with 373,800 completing vaccination(over 56% of the state). Brown County has 19,147 receiving at least one shot & 18,002 completing vaccination.
