SD Dept of Health reports 2 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 2 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,079. The state had 619 new cases and 374 recoveries, increasing active infections to 6,750. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 207.

So far, South Dakota has had 136,157 cases and 127,328 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 26 new cases and 8 recoveries. The county currently has 193 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,923 cases and 5,635 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 33,871 cases, followed by Pennington County with 16,978 and Lincoln County with 9,316, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,902, Brookings with 4,602, Lawrence with 3,708, Meade with 3,692, and Davison with 3,440.

Statewide 410,376 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(above 62% of the state) with 378,111 completing vaccination(over 57% of the state). Brown County has 19,384 receiving at least one shot & 18,266 completing vaccination.
