SD Dept of Health reports 2 new COVID-19 related deaths through Monday

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 2 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,029. The state had 23 new cases and 9 recoveries, increasing active infections to 162. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 20.

So far, South Dakota has had 124,468 cases and 122,277 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had no new cases and no recoveries. The county currently has 5 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,640 cases and 5,540 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,761 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,918, and Lincoln County with 8,722, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,653, Brookings with 4,234, Davison with 3,249, Yankton with 3,115, and Lawrence with 3,010.

Statewide 364,252 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 56% of the state) with 340,451 completing vaccination(over 51% of the state). Brown County has 17,405 receiving at least one shot & 16,548 completing vaccination.
