SD Dept of Health reports 2 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 2 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,022. The state had 20 new cases and 32 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 266. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 37.

So far, South Dakota has had 124,261 cases and 121,973 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had no new cases and 3 recoveries. The county currently has 19 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,633 cases and 5,519 recoveries. There’s currently 95 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,716 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,849, and Lincoln County with 8,716, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,648, Brookings with 4,231, Davison with 3,245, Yankton with 3,110, and Lawrence with 3,007.

Statewide 353,878 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 55% of the state) with 324,939 completing vaccination(under 50% of the state).  Brown County has 17,039 receiving at least one shot & 15,823 completing vaccination.
