SD Dept of Health reports 3 COVID-19 related death including 1 in Brown County

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 3 new COVID-related death(including 1 in Brown County, 1st one reported since March 21st), while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,980. The state had 76 new cases and 131 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 1,251. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 77.

So far, South Dakota has had 123,233 cases and 120,002 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 6 new cases and 4 recoveries. The county currently has 81 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,553 cases and 5,380 recoveries. There’s currently 92 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,515 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,684, and Lincoln County with 8,652. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,627, Brookings with 4,205, Davison with 3,227, Yankton with 3,080, and Lawrence with 2,970.

Statewide 333,447 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 55% of the state) with 296,671 completing vaccination(over 48% of the state).  Brown County has 16,064 receiving at least one shot & 14,733 completing vaccination.
