SD Dept of Health reports 3 COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 3 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,976. The state had 99 new cases and 156 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 1,385. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 102.

So far, South Dakota has had 123,073 cases and 119,712 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 9 new cases and 5 recoveries. The county currently has 81 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,542 cases and 5,370 recoveries. There’s currently 91 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,467 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,659, and Lincoln County with 8,641. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,618, Brookings with 4,198, Davison with 3,226, Yankton with 3,077, and Lawrence with 2,969.

Statewide 331,863 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 55% of the state) with 290,404 completing vaccination(under 48% of the state).  Brown County has 15,980 receiving at least one shot & 14,189 completing vaccination.
