SD Dept of Health reports 3 COVID-19 related deaths for the weekend

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 3 new COVID-related deaths for the weekend, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,973. The state had 229 new cases and 293 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 1,445. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 103.

So far, South Dakota has had 122,974 cases and 119,556 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 16 new cases and 15 recoveries. The county currently has 77 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,533 cases and 5,365 recoveries. There’s currently 91 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,447 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,643, and Lincoln County with 8,627. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,605, Brookings with 4,195, Davison with 3,224, Yankton with 3,073, and Lawrence with 2,967.

Statewide 331,038 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 55% of the state) with 288,249 completing vaccination(over 47% of the state).  Brown County has 15,978 receiving at least one shot & 14,151 completing vaccination.
