SD Dept of Health reports 3 COVID-19 related deaths for the weekend

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 3 new COVID-related deaths for the weekend, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,970. The state had 86 new cases and 194 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 1,512. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 105.

So far, South Dakota has had 122,745 cases and 119,263 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 8 new cases and 9 recoveries. The county currently has 76 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,517 cases and 5,350 recoveries. There’s currently 91 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,361 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,620, and Lincoln County with 8,627. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,593, Brookings with 4,184, Davison with 3,220, Yankton with 3,070, and Lawrence with 2,959.

Statewide 329,491 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(under 55% of the state) with 284,164 completing vaccination(under 47% of the state).  Brown County has 15,948 receiving at least one shot & 13,946 completing vaccination.
