SD Dept of Health reports 3 COVID-19 related deaths on Friday

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 3 new COVID-related deaths(through Friday), while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,004. The state had 31 new cases and 74 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 522. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 56.

So far, South Dakota has had 123,942 cases and 121,416 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 2 new cases and 4 recoveries. The county currently has 43 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,610 cases and 5,475 recoveries. There’s currently 92 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 31,665 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,795, and Lincoln County with 8,698, Other counties totals include Codington with 4,646, Brookings with 4,221, Davison with 3,239, Yankton with 3,102, and Lawrence with 2,996.

Statewide 346,152 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 53% of the state) with 317,513 completing vaccination(over 48% of the state).  Brown County has 16,602 receiving at least one shot & 15,451 completing vaccination.
