SD Dept of Health reports 3 COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 3 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations stayed about the same, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,922. The state had 207 new cases and 209 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 2,233. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 69.

So far, South Dakota has had 115,723 cases and 111,568 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 5 new cases and 11 recoveries. The county currently has 69 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,238 cases and 5,079 recoveries. There’s currently 90 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 28,983 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,162, and Lincoln County with 8,040. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,133, Brookings with 3,701, Davison with 3,029, Lawrence with 2,879, and Yankton with 2,868.

Statewide 214,284 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 36% of the state) with 132,663 completing vaccination(under 23% of the state).  Brown County has 9,800 receiving at least one shot & 6,082 completing vaccination.
