SD Dept of Health reports 3 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 3 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,270. The state had 871 new cases and 746 recoveries, increasing active infections to 6,083. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 231.

So far, South Dakota has had 158,267 cases and 149,914 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 26 new cases and 26 recoveries. The county currently has 301 active cases. Overall, the county has had 6,877 cases and 6,476 recoveries. There’s currently 100 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 38,257 cases, followed by Pennington County with 21,530 and Lincoln County with 10,494, Other counties totals include Codington with 5,711, Brookings with 5,199, Meade with 4,692, Lawrence with 4,478, and Davison with 3,812.

Statewide 456,463 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 68% of the state) with 420,345 completing vaccination(over 58% of the state).  Statewide 80,303 have received the booster shot.

Brown County has 21,145 receiving at least one shot & 19,922 completing vaccination. 3,589 receiving the booster shot.
