SD Dept of Health reports 3 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 3 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,430. The state had 398 new cases and 140 recoveries, increasing active infections to 7,335. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 254.

So far, South Dakota has had 173,655 cases and 163,887 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 13 new cases and 3 recoveries. The county currently has 258 active cases. Overall, the county has had 7,507 cases and 7,142 recoveries. There’s currently 107 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 41,869 cases, followed by Pennington County with 23,281 and Lincoln County with 11,457, Other counties totals include Codington with 6,310, Brookings with 5,603, Meade with 5,073, Lawrence with 4,863, and Davison with 4,338.

Statewide 489,211 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 66% of the state) with 440,882 completing vaccination(over 55% of the state).  Statewide 153,481 have received the booster shot(under 24% of the state).

Brown County has 22,494 receiving at least one shot & 20,949 completing vaccination. 8,025 receiving the booster shot.
