SD Dept of Health reports 3 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 3 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,808. The state had 174 new cases and 827 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 4,419. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 147.

So far, South Dakota has had 236,056 cases and 228,829 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 9 new cases and 51 recoveries. The county currently has 237 active cases. Overall, the county has had 10,201 cases and 9,848 recoveries. There’s currently 116 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 56,818 cases, followed by Pennington County with 32,480 and Lincoln County with 15,438, Other counties totals include Codington with 8,344, Brookings with 8,064, Meade with 6,958, Lawrence with 6,540, and Yankton with 5,882.

Statewide 516,561 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 71% of the state) with 465,302 completing vaccination(over 58% of the state).  Statewide 207,485 have received the booster shot(over 32% of the state).

Brown County has 23,562 receiving at least one shot & 22,155 completing vaccination. 10,805 receiving the booster shot.
