SD Dept of Health reports 3 new COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 3 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 2,883. The state had 504 new cases and 2,040 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 537. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 43.

So far, South Dakota has had 237,109 cases and 233,689 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 6 new cases and 108 recoveries. The county currently has 33 active cases. Overall, the county has had 10,277 cases and 10,123 recoveries. There’s currently 121 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 57,006 cases, followed by Pennington County with 32,660 and Lincoln County with 15,477, Other counties totals include Codington with 8,403, Brookings with 8,093, Meade with 6,999, Lawrence with 6,560, and Yankton with 5,900.

Statewide 519,861 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(71.77% of the state) with 468,706 completing vaccination(58.78% of the state).  Statewide 212,224 have received the booster shot(32.94% of the state).

Brown County has 23,644  receiving at least one shot & 22,279 completing vaccination. 11,055 receiving the booster shot.
